Will Waves dance the jig on Homecoming?

It’s Homecoming Week for the Midway Green Waves (2-4) and this Friday they hope to be dancing on the tails of the Harriman Blue Devils (2-4). The Blue Devils have a win over Monterey and a 2-point win over Tellico Plains. They have big losses to Kingston, Rockwood, Wartburg and Upperman.

The Waves are coming off a heartbreaking loss at Tellico Plains. The Waves led the majority of the game before Tellico Plains scored late to steal the victory, 28-32.
The smell of Midnight on Dogtown Road will fill the locker room Friday night, but will it also smell like victory for the Waves?

After last week’s collapse at Tellico, Mike Rose (6-0) took the solo lead on the panel with Ralton Emory one game behind. This week could decide who takes the title of SORSN’s Best Picker. Will Mike make the drive from his gated, west Knox (GCA) residence to support the Alma mater on Homecoming night? Will Kyle ever make good on his Fantasy Football wager from 2010? Lots of questions this week…it’s time to hear from the Panel.

Ralton “Mule” Emory:
How much did it cost Mike Rosey-Rose to pay the referees to steal that win for the Bears just to keep his pick panel perfect? 🙂 I’m thinking he may have been sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings during the game. (Note to those in Rockwood – if you don’t understand my BWW analogy, please see their commercials about sporting events)

All that aside, this week’s game is a tough one to call. A true coin toss type of selection. So that’s what I will do: flip a coin 10 times with majority winner being my pick.

Midway will be heads and the Turquoise Demons will be tails.

Let’s see: Okay, that didn’t work. It ended 5 – 5. Go figure.

I’ll say Midway wins with the boys SOR coming from behind to win on a last minute drive type ballgame. Enjoy the Homecoming Festivities everyone.

Randy “Zipper” Rose:
I hope the Greenwave team can bounce back this week at home and get a big win against Harriman, but I’m going to have to go with the Devils.

Kyle “Skunk Lover” Canup:
First off tough lose for the Waves last week but a great game by the waves and a lot learned for the young team. From week 0 to now the team has grown and improved a lot, and that shows a lot to the hard work from the coaching staff and players. I think the waves are going to be looking for a win exp. against an in county rival. I got the waves taking a big win Friday night on homecoming and getting that 1st district win. Maybe some of the other “Midway alumni” may pick the Waves on Homecoming night, but I’d say not.

I’m making a homecoming trip the Grace Christian weekend and I am bringing my end of the deal with me.

Of course Kyle picks to pay up on the Friday that I will literally be out of the country.

Michael “Corso” Rose:
Harriman

Barry “Boo” Narramore:
Midway by a touchdown for a great Homecoming. See everybody there. Go Big Green!!!!!!!!
