Pick Panel Goes All In For Green

2 weeks. 2 games. 2 points. Two weeks ago, the Waves lost a 1-point game in overtime. Last week, the Waves scored 14 points in the final 90 seconds to defeat Sunbright by 1-point. This week it’s Homecoming AND it’s a big District game against the Harriman Blue Devils. Last year, the Waves ruined Harriman’s homecoming with a 35 yard touchdown throw and catch from Lyle to Woody in the final seconds of the game. Will Harriman get revenge by ruining the Waves dance party? Or will the Waves have a victory sweeter than the smell of the 30 gallons of cologne that will be splashed on Friday night?

Last week, the Panel was split. Let’s see who they favor in this week’s in-county rival matchup.

Kyle Canup:
Good to see the Waves bounce back from a tough loss and win a close one. Now that all the nail biting is over hopefully the waves can take these past two weeks and unleash it on the blue devils. As a Midway fan I always love to see the Green beat Harriman in whichever sport it may be, but I think we can all agree on that (with the exception of Principal Mason). I know Harriman seems to have a weaker team than normal but you can never underestimate this matchup, but I’m taking the Waves again and I am ready to watch them prove me right. Look to see Midway’s offense make some big plays this week.
Midway-35 Harriman-20

I bet Barry doesn’t even know how to enjoy being right this much.

Ralton Emory:
This one is easy.

Midway 19, Indigo Demons 18

Steven Sears:
What a game last week against Sunbright! I was thrilled to see that the Greenwaves pulled out a tough win against a good Sunbright team. This week’s matchup features another tough game against in-county rival Harriman. This is a very winnable game for the green team and a key district matchup. Last week I was wrong for choosing against Midway and I will not make that mistake again this week. I like Midway in this week’s matchup against the blue devils. All that I ask is that you quit having these “down to the wire” games and lay a good ole fashion thumping to Harriman because I can’t stand them. Midway 35 Harriman 26

Amber Johnson:
Homecoming in the Emerald Forest this Friday should be a good one. The Waves are coming off a much deserved win last Friday night. The Waves are no strangers to the close game in recent weeks; this week will be no different. I predict the Waves a winner in another close one.

Barry Narramore:
Just about gave up on the Green last week but watched them get the W from the parking lot! It’s not how you start the race but how you finish! And what a finish it was!!! Colyer, Hester, Mason Woody, Longmire, and BP were all standouts on defense!
Now on to the Blue Devils who always have the speed to strike fast.
Harriman has always had success running the double-wing offense and the Greenwaves have always had trouble finding the ball! Sunbright beat Harriman 42-22 but early in the game Harriman appeared to be the better team. And Midway struggled with Sunbright’s speed. So my thoughts are that Midway will get the win but this could be another shoot out like we’ve seen the last 2 weeks. Midway 28 Harriman 14

Michael Rose:
Second half of the season sees the Green Wave come off a gi-normous win over a good Sunbright team, and trying to build some momentum heading into the stretch district run. Harriman got a big win last week over the warthogs of Wartburg.

A district county game with huge playoff implications should mean a big turnout at the Emerald Forest in front of a raucous home crowd. Mix in the homecoming festivities and it certainly should be an exciting evening SOR.

Also of note is a glance at the top at leader board of the pick panel shows none other than the one and only Boo Narramore sitting in the catboobird seat. Not for sure, but I would be willing to bet that this is the only time in the history of the pick panel that the Boo-man has been within shouting distance of the leaderboard this late in the season. I would propose to the panel that should Boo win the pick panel, that the rest of the pick panel would pledge to sport a moustache (I suppose we should call it a boo-man-chu) for the first week of the playoffs.

Reportedly, sorsn.com’s CEO, lead writer, and lead photographer will be near live streaming updates from the game Friday, and will have a game summary on the website shortly after its completion. Refresh your browser often on Friday night/Saturday morning to check on the progress. You can also see updates at the sorsn.com Facebook page, which is fast becoming communication central for all things SOR. If you have trouble with getting the updates, please contact SQueener@sorsn.com.

South of the River, Friday night, homecoming, county game. I am going Booman Group style this week and taking the Green.

SORSN:
It appears Mike Rose has coined another phrase. First it was “Boo Narramoring” and this week we have boo-man-chu. I suspect this could catch on bigger than Si Roberson’s one liners. Mike has got us thinking what the Panel would look like if they all supported a boo-man-chu. Thanks to the app store, we were able to see just exactly how that would look.
