Midway wasted no time, scoring on their first drive and forcing Greenback to go 3 & out on their first drive. Turnovers were a big part of the game. Midway’s defensive backs had an outstanding game. Jeremy Woody had 2 big interceptions, the last coming on Greenback’s final drive which protected the shut out. Spencer “Swivel Hips” Myers forced another fumble to save a touchdown as well as “assisted” with an interception. I always thought an assist was in basketball but after tonight’s game..Myers showed it could be done in football. Greenback went deep on a pass and both Myers and Woody had it well covered, the ball sailed and Myers leaped and got one hand on the ball and was pulling it in when it appeared that he cradled it down right to Jeremy. Crazy, crazy play. #2 Justin Pressley and #8 Andrew Davidson blanketed Greenback’s receivers all night. It was Pressley’s best performance of the year thus far. Greenback’s QB went at Pressley and Davidson all night but with no luck…”them SOR boys shut them down!”
