Flash forward to Thursday night at Midway: Harriman and Midway tied with about 20 seconds remaining. Harriman with the ball holds for the final shot….a driving Harriman Blue Devil puts up a floater in the lane and hits it for the 43-41 win.

It was a thrilling game to watch but in all honesty, the Greenwaves should’ve/could’ve won by 15+ points IF they would have hit their L-A-Y-U-P-S. Yes, missed lay-ups cost the green team dearly. I’m not talking about heavily contested lay-ups; I’m talking about open lay-ups.

The big man, Matt Crabtree, came up big at the end to keep the game close. Crabtree worked the glass and put back several of those failed lay-ups to give the Greenwaves a shot at the win.

Justin “Have You Seen Elvis” Pressley had an outstanding defensive game for the green and white. Justin is playing well at the right time of the season.

On Friday night, the Greenwaves played host to Cosby for the final game of the regular season. Not once in Midway history has the Greenwaves beat Cosby on the hardwood..well that was until now. Down by 1 with just seconds left, Spencer “I Almost Dunked It” Myers pulled up and fired one from deep, it came off the rim but it was JP, Justin “Have You Seen Elvis” Pressley, who grabbed the rebound and put it back at the buzzer for the win!

S-O-R!!! S-O-R!!! S-O-R!!!

The District Tournament begins Monday at Greenback. The Greenwaves will face Grace Christian in the first round. The Greenwaves beat Grace Christian convincingly in both regular season meetings.
