All in for Midway

And with the blink of an eye, we are now more than half way through the regular season with only 4 games remaining. The Waves, 5-1, welcome the Sunbright Tigers to the Emerald Forest this Friday night for the final home game of the regular season.

It’s another important Region game for the Waves, one they can not take loosely, as the Tigers will be waiting to pounce on an unsuspecting Midway Defense.

The SORSN Football Pick Panel have made their predictions for this weeks game.

“Should be a good senior night. Don’t turn the ball over and everything will be great in the Emerald Forest. Midway is a wash.”
– Ralton Emory

“Shawn, great win last Friday night! One Oneida fan stated on CoachT.com that they hoped to never hear “that stupid SOR chant again.” I hope they heard it loud and clear last week. This week is Sunbright and the Green better stay focused because the Tigers can move the ball. Sunbright has a 2-4 record. In their 2 wins, Sunbright has put up 48 points against Pickett Co. and 37 Points against Hancock Co so the Tigers can score, but to be fair these 2 teams have a combined record of 1 win and 8 losses. So I think the Waves should be able to handle this one. Give me the Green and let’s continue to let the GOOD TIMES ROLL!”
– Barry Narramore

Our thoughts go out to Pick Panel member Randy Rose and his family. Randy was rushed to the emergency room Tuesday night with what appears to be blockage in an artery. So this week, I’ll make his pick for him….and it’s a safe assumption that RR would go with the Green Waves.

“Midway wins…I don’t need to elaborate. Let’s go boys!!!”
– Amber Johnson

“After another dazzling performance this week against Oneida, Coach CMo’s Big Green Scoring Machine hosts its final home game of the year against the starry eyed visitors from Sunbright. That’s right Midway fans, this is the final regular season home game of the year for the Green Team as the Waves finish the regular season on the road for the next three weeks. The Emerald Forest should be alive and rocking as the Waves look to extend their winning streak and set the stage for the stretch run.

Simply put, this thing looks like a mismatch. Midway is really clicking on all cylinders and Sunbright, well to put it bluntly, has struggled. Midways overall team speed is lethal and the defense line has really stepped up its play. The coaching staff’s biggest concern this week is the Midway team overlooking Sunbright with an all important trip across the county to Harriman looming next Friday.

Can Coach Moser keep the Waves focused and energized as the air turns cool and the season grows late? Can Midway stay healthy for the late season run? Will the South of the River gang continue their season sweep in their march to the mythical Morgan County Championship? Will Chinn ever win another lineman of the week award and Free Pizza? Will Ray2’s hair continue to fit under his helmet?

The answer, my friends, is yes to all of the above…The Waves will struggle a bit early but will win going away… “
