Panel Makes Final Picks of the Season

The Waves travel to Wartburg for the final regular season game of this highlight-filled 2007 season.

For the Bulldogs, this is a season they can’t wait to come to an end as they are winless. They are averaging just one touch down per game and can’t be more opposite than this Green Wave team.

The Waves need only 12 points to break the ’88 teams’ record for most points in a regular season (374). They have already broke the ’88 teams record for average points per game (31.2) as they are currently averaging 40.3 per contest and will still beat the record even if they do not score a single point against Wartburg.

Will this be a record breaking season for the Midway Green Waves?

“First off, congrats to the players and coaches on a great regular season. I’m glad to see their hard work paying off, and the result is the SOR community rallying behind our team and seeing some school spirit in the school. To the task at hand, I’m pickin’ the Waves of course. Let’s put the icing on the cake.”

“The last time I remember Midway playing Wartburg, Trevor Davis was hitting people so hard ear pieces were flying all over the place. No different this year. Waves win to round out the regular season.

And to reveal my family tie to Greenback, my brother coached there for 4 years until he found religion and saw the light.”
– Ralton Emory ’91 #78 OT/DT

“The last week of the regular season is not the time for a let down. The boys from SOR keep rolling with a big win at Wartburg to get ready for the playoff run…. give me the Green.”
– Randy Rose ’79 #89 WR/DE

“Midway is a much better football team than Wartburg and Coach Moser wants to complete the season sweep and become the mythical Morgan County champions. Midway has more than held their own against bigger school opponents this year and that trend continues this week. At least a game against the Morgan County teams guarantees Midway can get a weekly article in the Roane (or is it Morgan) County News. SORSN.com again provides excellent coverage from 1st quarter kickoff to the final seconds.
Midway wins in a game that is closer than it should be.”
– Mike Rose ’91 #5 QB/DE

Anyone who says Greenwave fans aren’t loud enough or don’t support their team was not at Greenback last Friday night. I’ve not heard the green fans that loud in a long time. This team has managed to capture the hearts of the fans like few others have lately. This Midway offense has been extremely exciting to watch and they can score at any given time. If Midway has the ball, don’t go to the concession stand because you’ll likely miss a great play like Ray-Ray’s dash to the end zone last Friday. That run should be replaying on ESPN. Great effort Ray.

The Green Wave fans got a big scare when Harley went down and lay motionless in the end zone. I was not greatly concerned because anybody in Midway should know that “you can’t hurt no Davidson!”

The pass Defense must improve if this team plans to be playing late in Nov. and I know the coaching staff is focusing lots of effort to this cause. This week is Wartburg who are winless and facing a Midway Offense that they can’t stop. I pick the Green to roll and hopefully escape without further injuries.

Go BIG Green
