Midway vs Harriman: Panel Predictions

This week the Midway Greenwaves play host to the Harriman Blue Devils in a very important region matchup.

Harriman has 3 losses on the season: a 2 point loss to Kingston, an 8 point loss to Greenback, and most recently a 0-21 loss to Oneida. Harriman started the season playing really good ball. However, in recent weeks, they have struggled against quality opponents.

Midway is coming off a dominating performance against Sunbright where Ray Robinson had his best game of the season with 5, yes five, TDs and freshman Thomas Viar stepped up for an injured Quinton Pressley and threw 2 touch down passes.

This will be a tough game on the field to say the least….how will it play out in the pick panel? Randy Rose remains in the lead at a perfect 6-0….could he stumble this week and perhaps give up a share of the leader board?

Let’s see who the Pick Panel favors for this region throwdown.

“Yes, the county bragging rights battle between the Turquoise Demons and the Mighty Waves. The winner not only receives bragging rights of being the best ‘small’ school in the county, this game may determine if/where both teams may have to travel during the playoffs.

While the boys in blue started strong, they have faltered here as late. But, I believe they will be on their game Friday due to all the implications.

In a tough, close battle: Give me Midway by 2 pts.”

“This week’s game plays up to be a good one. The Mighty Waves rolled over Sunbright and the Devils struggled against the Indians. With Pressley out, the upperclassmen stepped up to help out a young QB in his first start. If Q.P. is out this week they will have to do the same. This game will be played between the trenches, but Midway has also found a passing game. My pick this week is not just what my heart is telling me, but also what my head is telling me…….Mighty Waves 30 Harriman 21.”
Jeff Hill: MWM who enjoys peaceful walks on dead-end roads, Friday nights on the hill, and cow-tipping with the neighbors.

“An up and down Harriman team crosses the bridge this week looking for a big win down South of the River. Every region game is important and now this one is big. I think the Green will be ready. Give me Midway.”
Randy Rose: MWM ISO someone gullible enough to pay face value for TN tickets. Enjoys SportsTalk Radio and fresh, hot, small, square meals at Krystal’s.

“Midway started slow and ended with a bang last week. Ray Ray had a big night, so did Wakon. The Freshman Viar was impressive with several nice passes. The defense bent but didn’t break with several starters on the sidelines. Harriman had a bad game last Friday and will be looking to get back on track this week, but they got to come south. This will be the Midway’s time to get a big win but this is gonna be a tough one. Midway by a touchdown….possibly in OT.”
Barry Narramore: Non-Smoker. MWM ISO deep sports conversations. Enjoys fast pitch softball, Thanksgiving leftovers, and Dancing with the Stars.

“The Waves are on a roll and i don’t think Harriman can do anything to stop ’em. The visiting Blue Devils don’t have enough answers for the peaking Greenwave. I take Midway edging a good Blue Devil team.”
Amber Johnson: SWF who enjoys saving the environment, long walks on the beach, YouTube, and roofers in the early morning hours. ISO a wealthy SWM, NS, who can grab one from the fridge on-command and only speaks when spoken to.

“Um, I like Harriman, no wait Midway, hey this ones a tossup. In an attempt to make up some ground in the pick panel, give me Harriman by the narrowest margin…”
