Lady Wave softball fans got their first glimpse at the 2011 squad on Friday evening, as Midway hosted the Wartburg Lady Bulldogs in an informal scrimmage. The field looked great, and the Lady Waves’ offense looked better. If this game is any indication of what is to come this year, the Midway faithful could be in for a high-octane thrill ride. The Lady Waves looked really good up and down the roster. Many, many balls were knocked around the field, and many, many runs were scored. Senior left fielder Paige Moree has started the long ball carnage before the season has even officially begun. On her third at-bat of the scrimmage, Paige blasted the ball over the left field fence and onto some adjoining private property.
