Pick Panel: Game 9 vs. Harriman

The Midway Greenwave (3-5, 1-4) are coming off a big win last week over BYE when they failed to show up. This week, the Wave are heading to Harriman (1-7, 0-4)  for a big county showdown. The Blue Devils have struggled in the win column this year however, have played several good teams close, including a 1 point loss to Rockwood and Oliver Springs.

Both teams are coming off bye weeks.  Who took advantage of the time off to heal and prep for this week’s matchup?

Who will the Pick Panel favor this week?

Travis Jackson (4-4): The loss to Greenback was a tough one.  It’s been a long season for these Waves and they have shown grit but came up short more times than they’d like. This hopefully builds character and they will continue to improve. The coaching staff we have will continue to coach and prepare this team to play better every week. I keep thinking we might see an explosion of offense and run away with a game but unfortunately I don’t see that happening this week. Harriman’s record could be 5-3 not 1-7 if the ball had bounced the other way in some of those tight games. I’ll take Harriman in a fairly close game. 30-18 Blue Devils.

Jason Lloyd (4-4): Getting over the loss to Greenback was tough. That game made me sadder than Isaiah Ruffner finding out a family member wouldn’t be his head coach. But we have to move on and focus our attention on the in-country matchup against Harriman. If you look at both team’s records, you would think it would be an easy win for the Green Waves. But looking closer at Harriman’s matchups this year, they’ve all been close games and only lost by 1 to Olive Springs, who beat Midway 54-0. This will be a close game, and though I hate to say it, I think Harriman edges us out by one, 28-27. But I hope I’m wrong!

Ethan Crabtree (4-4): I was always told that the bye week was always a week to fear because of potential injuries that nobody saw coming. I hope Midway was able to take that time to get some extra film study in and heal up nagging injuries to give their all for this game! I feel both teams aren’t satisfied with how their season has gone, and both are out for blood, but as much as I hate saying this, I believe Harriman having the home field advantage is gonna end up pulling out the win over the Green Waves 28-21. Like I have said before, I sure hope the Waves prove me wrong!

Chris Barry (3-5): Well it seems this should be a no-brainer due to the fact of Harriman‘s lack of ability to grasp on to a W. But somehow I feel like with both teams coming off a bye week that this will be a close hard fought  game. Now, with that being said, with my dad and my siblings, being from the good old Blue Devil town. You can bet your sweet a** there will be a little Trash Talk in the family this week because no doubt Midway will come out victorious. So come on boys y’all are well rested and you should be well prepared. I have no doubt that wish.com Mr. clean a.k.a. Coach O’Toole has these boys ready for a fight in the trenches. Let’s bring home the W, Big Green. I’ll take Midway staying pretty close most of the game, but pulling away in the fourth quarter. Midway 28 Harriman 14.

Barry Boo Narramore (3-5):  I spent Friday 2 weeks ago in the UT emergency room and got to watch the Harriman/Rockwood game in its entirety. Anybody who thinks this is gonna be an easy win for the Green would be wrong. This one is a toss-up but I’ll take the Waves by 1. Go Big Green!

Tyson Canup (5-3): Bye weeks  are great for getting focused, rested and keeping skills at the peak. Unfortunately Harriman is coming off a bye as well so they have had the same opportunity. Hopefully the boys have been packed into coach O’Toole’s film watching VHS of the last three years so they know every scheme the blue devils will throw and run at us. We can’t lose to all three in county rivals, but I agree with that Narramore wisdom. Midway by a smidge! 18-20. Let’s roll boys!
