SORSN Game 10 Picks: Midway vs. Oakdale

The Midway Greenwave (3-6, 1-5) are coming off a disappointing loss to the Harriman Blue Devils last week.  The Waves are currently on a 3-game skid and looking to end the regular season with a dub and much needed region win.

It will not be easy.  Midway will host the Oooooooak-dale Eagles (5-4, 2-4) tonight. The Eagles are coming off a nail biter of a game against Rockwood where they came up just short in the closing minutes.

Can the Wave get this must-win game to extend their season? Let’s hear from the panel

Travis Jackson (5-4): The season comes to a close with not the results the Midway faithful wanted. The team fought hard all season but unfortunately came out on the losing side too many times. This week unfortunately I think the Waves will lose their fourth in a row when the Eagles soar into the Emerald Forest. The days of this game being a cakewalk have vanished recently as Oakdale has improved and became more competitive. I know the coaches will continue to work with this team and next year they will be more experienced and prepared to compete.  I’ll take Oakdale 33-19

Jason Lloyd (5-4): Last week’s loss was tougher than a Coach Hayes final exam. But the Waves need to turn the page and close out the season on a positive note. Oakdale has had a good year but I think this game is close and may come down to special teams. But since the Green Waves kicking game isn’t as strong as it was in the late 90s, I’m going to have to take Oakdale 21-20. Best of luck tonight Waves! Seniors, soak in the moment and leave it all out on the field, since it’s the last time you’ll wear the Green and White. Go big green!

Tyson Canup (5-4): Not the season these men wanted but lessons were learned, experience was gained. Last chance to flex those muscles. No way I pick Oakdale for this one. Midway will put the pieces together to go out on a high note, Green will roll. 35-20

Ethan Crabtree (5-4): Well, the last game of the regular season has come, and things haven’t really gone the way that the Green Waves have wanted. I hope the Waves can pull out the win to extend into playoffs, but it is gonna come off of a hard fought game to get there. But I think after last week’s disappointing loss to Harriman, that the Waves will put up a big fight, but I think Oakdale will outlast the Waves in the second half and pull out the win 28-21.

Chris Barry (3-6): Well, this isn’t the one that’s going to send us to the number one seed in the playoffs or anything. But it’s still a game for the Midway  Greenwaves and the last regular season game at that. And as I’ve done all season, I’m not gonna stray from my boys in green. Oakdale seems to have a somewhat decent team which was unheard of in all of my years of sports at Midway. I figured eventually they would run out of a Rupee to play. But that doesn’t seem to be the case.. Give me the Big Green 21-20. Let’s go out there boys with your heads held high, chin straps buckled, and bust some heads tonight. Win or lose you’ve played for one of the best schools in all of Tennessee. Between the culture, the atmosphere, and the brotherhood of the football program, there’s no place like it. You’ll bleed green for the rest of your life.

Barry Boo Narramore (3-6):  Finish strong boys.  Midway
