The Waves get revenge over CAK

Ask any Midway fan if you could only win one game this year, what game do you want to win….CAK would be that game. The Waves beat CAK 21-18 in an emotionally charged game.

Not only were the players hungry for the win over CAK but the coaching staff were on eggshells. One might suggest that this game was equivalent to a UT/Florida game.

A steady rain fell early in the 1st quarter but this didn’t seem to slow the passing game of CAK. The CAK Warriors have a potent offense but Midway’s defense forced many punting situations. However, mental mistakes by the green team kept CAK within striking distance the entire game.

Blake Bray and Jude O’Toole both had solid performances running the ball and Daniel “Highlight Reel” Bredwell added a couple more big runs to his resume. Bray punched in 2 TD’s and O’Toole ran for 1. Tanner Roberson, the transfer student from Kansas, was a perfect 3 for 3 on PAT’s.

Spencer “Swivel Hips” Myers came away with 2 “oskies” which were proceeded by his famous “Oh no! Not in my house” head shake.

Jeremy Woody returned to the lineup since spraining his ACL at Rockwood in game one. And Woody made his presence known…just ask CAK’s #25…he’s still wondering who was driving the truck that ran over him. Woody laid several toe-curling hits, something that the fans have been wanting to see all season.

Congratulations to the Waves on a big win!
